Business outlook forum Thursday in S. Kohala

First Hawaiian Bank’s 39th annual Hawaii County Business Outlook Forum is Thursday at the Hapuna Beach Prince Resort.

The program runs from 4 to 6 p.m., a cocktail reception with pupu follows from 6 to 7 p.m. Admission is $45 for Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce and Rotary members; $55 for nonmembers.

Jack Suyderhoud, professor of business economics for the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii, will present the “Big Island Economic Forecast for 2014.”

Ken Miller, First Hawaiian Bank’s chief investment strategist and director of investment services, will present a domestic and worldwide overview, as well as market insights, in his “U.S. and Global Economic Forecast and Market Analysis.”

Church hosts
drive-in movie event

New Hope Waimea Christian Fellowship will hold a free drive-in movie event at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Church Row in Waimea. “Home Run” tells the story of professional baseball player Cory Brand and the struggles he faces while trying to maintain his all-star status.
